Zac’s Bike

I built this bike in preparation for my month long trip to the Dominican Republic. I knew we would be riding quite a bit of paved surface between connecting our adventure points so I wanted something that could find some speed loaded down on the road but also the right geometry and enough tire to handle rough unpaved surfaces. I assumed the Alfine 8 speed hub would be reserved for touring and I would convert it back to single speed for around town use but I’ve had a hard time giving up the convenience. Both forks, one with a 425mm axle to crown and the other with a 400mm axle to crown work well, resulting in a difference of about one degree in head tube angle.
